Which Contact Lens Solution Care to Use ?

CONTACT LENS SOLUTION

Choosing your circle lens brand and model is as important as the choice that you make for your solution care because the solution allows to sterilize and clean your circle lenses from bacteria and other foreign bodies.

If you want to know which solution care is the best for you, you have to check at first if your solution is made to use with soft contact lens, hard contact lens or both of them. Soft and hard contact lenses are made of different material, this is why they don't have the same needs. You can choose to wear daily disposable contact lenses which don't need any care.

In general, you should always read and respect the basic rules of hygiene explained on the manual delivered with your contact lenses or check on Solution-Lens.com. You should also be aware that different kind of solution care do exist.

- The saline solution contained in the contact lens vial is for moisturizing, rinsing and storing contact lenses. It is possible to buy this solution separately if you wish. Saline solution is perfect to be used as an eye drop.

- Rinsing and disinfecting solution can sterilize contact lenses which mean that this kind of solution can kill any germ or bacteria. It will avoid eye infections.

- Hydrogen Peroxide based solution is good to eradicate protein, any sign of bacteria and rinse your contact lenses, but with this base solution it is necessary to clean your contact lens right after with saline solution. This solution use is quite technical and not recommended for daily use. In case you forget to finish the cleaning with saline solution you can irritate your cornea.

- Multi-purpose solution is the most convenient to use, it is also a good and efficient product. This solution is often prescribed by eyes doctors like ophthalmologist. Their main advantage is to do everything, rinsing, cleansing, moisturizing and disinfecting.

So prefer a multi-function solution because its price is quite similar with the other solutions prices. There are two categories, one with preservative which can be uses for two months after opening. the other kind is a solution without preservative which is recommended for people allergic to preservative.

How to use your multi-purpose contact lens solution ?

Everyday and after each use, you have at first to wash your hands with a good soap, if possible the most natural as you can, then dry your hands with a fabric towel

Put you contact lens in the palm of your hand and pour generously multi-purpose solution to get it wet, gently rub the contact lens to remove protein, bacteria and dust or other small particle.

Then stock the contact lenses in a clean lens case and let them soak in fresh multi-purpose solution.

CLEAN AND STERILIZE CONTACT LENS

Wearing contact lens is not dangerous, when they come from factory they are 100% sterile in their vial. The only danger comes from yourself if you don't respect the basic rules of hygiene.

How Tears are Good for your Eyes

How Tears Are Good For Your Eyes

Tears are necessary and most people don't even realize how important they are to our health. In fact tears give you a good vision and protect your eyes from irritants.

Tears contain a combination of water, oil, sugars and proteins to moisten your eyes, clear debris out of your eyes and allow light to enter into your eyes.

When you forget to blink or stare at a screen, computer or even phone, for too long, your eyes will dry out and you will feel uncomfortable.

People who experienced dry eyes know how painful it is, our tears are the best natural medicine and they are better than any saline solution.

Crying can make you feel better, it might make your eyes red and puffy but it will not affect your eyesight. You might not know but even when you are not crying, tears flow every single time you blink your eyes. When you blink your eyes, you are giving a quick shower of tears to your eyes to keep them moistened and feel comfortable.

There are 3 types of tears that protect and preserve the condition of our eyes.

Basal Tears

These tears will ensure that your eyes are always wet and nourished.

The cornea has no blood vessels and need the tear film to bring oxygen into the eyes. This kind of tear will create a thin layer on the surface of your eyes every time you blink. The liquid will keep eyes hydrated and the cornea lubricated to limit the impact from movements of the eyelid. Basal tears will also smooth out small dirt from the eye and antibiotic proteins in the tear will also kill bacteria to reduce infection risk.

Reflexive Tears

These tears are the fighting guard of your eyes. Basically these tears are the same as basal tears but they appear in response to a sudden external stimulus such as cutting onion, dust, tear gas, pepper spray and other irritants that can threaten your eyes. These tears are created immediately in protective reflex and wash out those irritants that can be in contact with your eyes.

Emotional or Psych Tears

These tears relate to our emotion states and the lacrimal system produces these tears when we feel pain, anger or when we feel happy.

Emotional tears have special health benefits, they reveal stress hormones and endorphins, the natural pain killer and good feeling hormones, to help you to feel more calm and less emotional after crying.

Remember that crying is good and your eyes health depends on these tears, so let them flow. Next time when you will be about to cry, don't try to stop it and don't forget to drink a lot of water after you stop crying.

Red Veins on Your Eyes

how to cure red veins on white eyes

Sometimes you party all night and the next morning you wake up with tired face and lots of red veins in your white eyes. Cosmetic makeup can hide your tired face but can't hide those red veins in your eyes, so you have to understand why it happens.

Red veins on the white part of your eyes are quite normal and have no bad impact on your vision but these tiny red veins can effect your self esteem when it comes to beauty issue. Your eyes are an important part of your body when you meet or speak with your friends.

Many people are concerned about the veins in their eyes, because it makes them look tired, look unhealthy and not pretty. These red veins are just normal for some people but if you suddenly have this redness, you may have dry eyes or other symptoms.

how to cure red veins on white eyes

Main causes of the red veins in the white part of your eyes

- Untreated dry eye syndrome irritates and strains your eyes until they show red veins.

- Allergic reactions and dry air conditionning also cause irritation of your eyes.

- Too much exposure to the sunlight or UV rays without good UV blocking sunglasses.

- Computer eye strain: people who keep reading or working in front of computer for many hours without taking a break have more chance to have these red veins in their eyes.

- Overuse of vasoconstrictor eye drops, this kind of eye drop reduces the redness in the eyes by narrowing the blood vessels. This means that when you stop using the eye drops your red veins will come back even larger and more red than before.

Having permanently red veins on the white part of your eyes can make you feel insecure and push you to avoid eye contact with other people, but you are not the only one who have this cosmetic eye issue and you can find some solutions.

how to cure red veins on white eyes

How to treat your eyes ?

Set an appointment to meet an eye doctor is the first thing that you should do instead of trying to cure your red veins by yourself. Doctors can determine if have health issues such as allergies or dry eyes syndromes that lead to the redness of your eyes.

Doctor can provide a proper remedy to cure you if you have dry eye, allergies or other health issues to keep your red veins under control.

Your eye doctor will also recommend some general ways to control the red veins by taking supplements that contain flaxseed oil or by using lubricating eye drops such as Genteal instead of vasoconstrictor eye drops.

You can still use vasoconstrictors eye drops but only for special occasions like job interview but use them only 2 or 3 times a week maximum to avoid overuse and rebound redness effect.

Also you have to make sure that your eyes are moist and healthy. The easiest way to keep your eye healthy is to keep drinking a lot of water, cheap and efficient way to keep your eye moist all day long.

Should I Wear My Contact Lenses Before or After Applying Makeup ?

PUT ON CONTACT LENSES AFTER MAKEUP SOLUTION-LENS.COM

Many women wonder if they should put their color lens or apply their makeup first ? Yes, as you know it is very important to respect some rules when wearing contact lenses and make up at the same time so here is how to do.

Remember that you should only handle your contact lenses with clean hands, so you should wear contact lenses prior to applying any makeup because your fingers are still clean and because in case your contact lenses would touch your skin it is better not to have any make up that will end in your eyes.

This rule should always be respected and everybody should put color lenses first and then apply face make up.

If you makeup your eyes before inserting your contact lenses they could be in contact with eyeliner, mascara or eye shadow and the chemicals used for makeup could be dangerous for your eyes. So even if you think that you can take care enough to avoid touching your contact lenses with makeup please do not do it because risk exists and you could be in trouble if some makeup ended in your eyes. Makeup is a lot more dangerous than contact lenses but in case of problem you would think that the lenses are the problem which is actually wrong.

Also, if you make up after having inserted your contact lenses you should use it sparingly to avoid debris falling into your eyes and damaging the lens or developing an eye infection. Please close your eyes when it is posible as when you apply powder, but the best is to use only cream and avoid any kind of powder that could end in your eyes even when they are closed.

So it is possible to wear make up and color lenses at the same time, but always put your lenses in your eyes first and then apply your makeup. Never try to put your lenses on your eyes after having put makeup on your face.

How to Use Korean Contact Lenses Safely

How to Use Korean Contact Lenses Safely

It's easy to order contact lenses online but if you want to use your contact lenses properly you should read this page first.

All our contact lenses are packaged in sealed glass vials and you should check your products before opening the vials to avoid any risk to be told that you damaged the lenses when you tried them on.

How to Use Korean Contact Lenses Safely

Before opening the contact lens vials

- check the contact lenses to make sure that this is what you ordered, with or without power

- check the vials and lenses: vials must be sealed and lenses should not show any tear or scratch

- check the expiration date of your lenses to be sure that they have not expired

- check authenticity of your lenses: only Geo brand has an authenticity sticker and website to check the authenticity number but you can check online how should look the vials of any contact lens brand that you buy (remember that vials and stickers change in different countries)

- shake the lens vials to be sure that the lenses are floating in the solution and if the lenses are stuck in the vials dip the vials in warm water for 5 minutes then shake the lens package again. Occasionally a lens may adhere to the bottom of the vial when opened but do not worry as it will not affect the sterility of the lens that is still perfectly safe to use.

After opening the contact lens vial

- always wash your hands before handling your lenses

- clean a new lens case by using multiple purpose contact lens solution

- place your new lenses into a clean new lens case

- soak the lenses in multi-purpose solutions

- always soak your new lenses in a fresh contact lens solution for at least 8 hours before using them (the best is to soak them overnight or 1 full day because the longer they are soaked the more comfortable they will be to wear)

- after soaking them clean and rub your lenses again before wearing

- store contact lens case at room temperature

- ensure that the caps of lens case are closed tightly

- rinse the case after inserting the lens in your eyes

Note:

- the liquid in the vial is not contact lens solution and cannot be used to clean your lenses

- if your eyes become red, itchy, or if you feel pain and see blur quickly remove the lenses and see your optometrist

- frequently clean your contact lenses and lens case to avoid contamination

- always clean your lenses with multi-purpose solutions, do not use tap water or saliva

- do not use saline water to disinfect and soak your lenses

- do not mix different brands of lens solutions

- do not share your lenses with other people

- do not repeatedly take your lenses in and out throughout the day because the risk of contamination is higher
