Owl Eyes Circle Lenses for Halloween or Cosplay
Eyes are special and the second most complex organ after the brain. Human eyes have evolved and adapted over many years to allow us to see 500 shades of color and also work in all kinds of different lights.
Having good vision is an important part of our modern day lives. We tend to think that our own vision is great but that’s nothing compared to owl’s eyes with highly specialzed vision.
Owls can see in ways that humans can only imagine. Here are amazing things you should know about Owl’s eyes.
Owls’s eyes are located together in front of their face like many predators. They have a large cornea and pupil to allow as much light as possible to hunt in the dark.
Both people and owls have sensitive cells in their eyes called rods and cones. Rods help dim the light and cones help to see color. We find many rods in owl’s eyes but not many cones, this is why many owls see only black and white colors.
People and owls also have binocular vision, it means that their two eyes are in front of the head and see the same thing. Binocular vision helps us to see the size of an object, how far away and how fast it is.
Humans have a field of vision of 180 degrees and 120 degrees with each eye. Owls only have a 125 degree field of vision, 50 degrees with each eye.
Interestingly though, these massive eyes can barely move and stay still in their sockets, so they must move their head so far. Owls have 14 neck bones that let them turn their head 270 degrees in both directions to see what is sneaking up behind.
Their adaptations to hunting at night aren’t limited to their incredible eyesight: long and serrated feathers allow the owl to fly almost silently, and crushingly powerful talons allow them to catc anything.
Besides being powerful, owl’s eyes are some of the most beautiful eyes in the animal kingdom. They have bright orange eyes that you can also have if you want.
We can’t turn our head around like owl do but we can have the bright orange eye color like them. It’s very simple and easy to get those orange eyes, all you need is a good pair of orange contact lenses from our shop.
